NO SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE

Dear Church Family,

Like many of you, we’ve been closely following the news about the Coronavirus COVID-19 situation. On Friday, the first presumptive positive case was identified here in Chester County. The State of Pennsylvania closed all schools for at least two weeks and non-essential entities as well. Across the country, concerts, sporting and other public events with 250 or more people have been asked to cancel or reschedule.

Clearly, this is a situation which demands a response.

So, the Board met, prayed, and after careful consideration, decided to cancel our services for the next two Sundays; then we will reevaluate. This also means the Annual Business Meeting will be postponed. This was a difficult decision to reach, but we believe it is the right one.

Of course, CSCC is a community that loves and serves each other. As we sacrifice this time of gathering and fellowship, let's be intentional about making phone calls, sending emails, and texting one another. Let’s set in our minds, that when this is over, we will be stronger than ever.

If you would like prayer for any reason or need help with shopping or other errands let me know. We'd like to connect you with someone who can help (and if you're someone who can help, let us know that too!)

During this time when we are not meeting in person on Sunday mornings, we will be posting video messages. I know that some of our members aren't active on social media, so the links will be available on Facebook, on the church website, and they'll be sent via email.

We will also take advantage of this time apart to do deep cleaning of the church. If you're going to be home from work and want to help with a cleaning/maintenance project during this time, let us know and we'll get you plugged in!

It’s easy to get caught up in fear and uncertainty, but we know that God is greater than anything we’re facing.

Psalm 34:4-7 says:

I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.

    He freed me from all my fears.

Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;

    no shadow of shame will darken their faces.

In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened;

    he saved me from all my troubles.

For the angel of the Lord is a guard;

    he surrounds and defends all who fear him.

If you’re struggling with fear, let me know so I can pray with you. In fact, let’s commit ourselves to prayer while this virus persists. Together we’ll get through this.

One last thing, please continue to be faithful and generous in your giving. We run on a very lean budget. You can give on line here https://www.csccag.org/give-online.

Blessings,

Pastor John and the board of CSCC
